Gorloks Continue Home Run Barrage

EUREKA, IL - Webster went deep four more times to complete the three-game series sweep of Eureka Sunday with the 16-6 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory. The Gorloks (26-11 overall, 23-0 SLIAC) will resume their suspended game with Principia 7 p.m. Tuesday for the chance to finish the SLIAC regular season unbeaten.

Sophomore Craig Schaefer hit home runs in consecutive at-bats, while Zach Little and Joe Biagini also went yard. Schaefer finished the game with a career-high seven RBI.

With the four long balls today, the Gorloks hit 15 home runs in the series. Biagini finished the three-game set with the Red Devils hitting .727 (8-for-11) with five home runs and 11 RBI.

Webster scored seven runs on three hits in the bottom of the sixth inning, all of the runs coming with two outs. The Gorloks took advantage of four picks and two hit batters to go along with three singles to amass the seven runs.

Junior Bryce Law (4-2) won his third consecutive start, allowing six runs (one earned) on five hits with five strikeouts.
