ELSAH, IL - With Webster's 4-1 victory, in the completion of the game started on April 18, the Gorloks have completed the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season a perfect 24-0.
They become only the second school to achieve the feat as MacMurray has done it twice. The 24 victories are also a SLIAC record for most victories in a season.
Webster (27-11 overall, 24-0) took the lead with three runs in the top of the second inning on a two-run single by
Alex Raetzloff and a two-out double by
Dakota Huey. Principia scored its lone run in the bottom of the second inning and the game was postponed in the bottom of the third.
Upon resumption of the contest, junior
John DuHadway took over for starter
Chris Cravatta and hurled the final five innings of the game to pick up the victory. DuHadway allowed one hit with five strikeouts in his time on the mound.
A throwing error in the sixth inning enabled the Gorloks to score their lone run after the game re-started.
