Shoot ’n’ Hoops Clinic a Slam Dunk!

The St. Louis Arc’s athletes recently got some expert help from some talented and dedicated volunteers at Webster University.

Sunday, November 16 from noon to 2pm, the Arc’s 10th Annual Shoot ‘n’ Hoops clinic was held on Webster’s campus. The Gorloks basketball team hosted the special clinic for 30 Arc participants. Many of them take part in the Arc’s basketball season through the Leisure department and this was the perfect way for them to sharpen their skills and gear up for their games!

On the court, the athletes worked with the Gorloks on dribbling, shooting and blocking drills. Off the court, everyone learned about teamwork, helping others and the importance of volunteering.

The St. Louis Arc is a non-profit United Way agency that provides support and services to more than 3,000 adults and children with developmental disabilities, and their families, throughout the metropolitan St. Louis area. It is an affiliated chapter of The Arc of the United States.
