Pete Mothe, a junior from Argentina, had his first start and complete game, allowing only one goal while facing 15 shots and making six saves. He lowered his goals against average to 0.90 for the season.
A tandem of freshman Michael Dennis (Carbondale HS, IL.) and sophomore Dominic DeVasto (Vianney HS, STL) successfully filled in for injured senior defender Jimmy McDonnell (CBC HS, STL).
Webster's lone goal was scored by senior Andy Rudroff (DeSmet HS, STL) on a volley at the top of the box off a pass from junior Mike Politte (St. Francis Borgia HS, STL) at the 23:00 mark of the first half.
Dubuque (6-1-2) was fresh off a victory over defending SLIAC champion Fontbonne University. Webster looks for their first win as they now begin conference play against Westminster College at 3 pm. at the Soccer Park on September 26.
