The Webster University men's and women's track and field teams had an opportunity to get the rust out, with the first action of the 2012 season at the Illinois College Snowbird Open indoor meet. A limited number of Gorloks for both squads participated in the event at Jacksonville, IL, on January 21, that was dominated by NAIA programs.
The women's highlight on the afternoon was the one mile run where the Gorloks took the 10th, 11th, and 13th places. Julie Greenough (SO, Lutie HS, MO) finished in 10th, one tenth of a second ahead of team mate Eroica Stackhouse (SO, Tipton HS, IN). Freshman Kassandra Ochoa (Glenbard East HS, IL) finished just over eight seconds later, two places behind in 13th.
