Duhawks Down Gorloks, 4-1

Giving a valiant effort, but up against too much firepower, the Webster University men’s soccer team fell to Loras College (IA), 4-1, on September 8 at the Soccer Park.  Webster fell behind early, 2-0, to open the contest and suffered its first loss of the season. The Duhawks, the sixth-ranked team nationally in the NCAA III, pulled away for the win.

The Gorloks answered the two early goals with one of their own as Mike Wells (SO, McCluer North HS, MO) scored his second tally in as many games, at the 15:00 minute mark of the first half.  But the Duhawks scored  before the half to take a 3-1 lead and end any momentum for Webster.

Webster is 1-1 overall and jumps right back into action on September 9 at the Soccer Park vs. Rhodes College (TN).  The Gorloks hit the road on September 15-16 for games at North Central College (IL) and Manchester College (IN).
