ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Webster University women's soccer team will kick off their 2022 season on Thursday, September 1
st when they host Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
The Gorloks will play six nonconference games on the season including matchups against Rose-Hulman (Ind.), Monmouth (Ill.) College, Anderson (Ind.) University, Millikin (Ill.) University, Benedictine (Ill.) University, and Washington (Mo.) University.
Rose-Hulman finished last season ranked ninth in Region VII after finishing the year with a 12-3-2 overall record. Washington (Mo.) University ranked at the top of Region VIII and made a run to the third round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer National Championships before being defeated by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in penalty kicks.
Webster will open SLIAC play on Wednesday, September 14
th when they travel across the river to Greenville, Illinois, to take on the Greenville (Ill.) University Panthers. The Gorloks defeated the Panthers in the 2021 SLIAC Semifinals by a final score of 2-0 to advance to the championship game.
The Gorloks will look to avenge their SLIAC Tournament Championship loss to the reigning SLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions when they travel across town on Saturday, September 17
th to take on the Fontbonne (Mo.) University Griffins. They will host the Griffins on Saturday, October 8
th at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
The team will celebrate the seniors on Saturday, October 1
st when they host Principia (Ill.) College. The ceremony will take place prior to the start of the 1 p.m. contest at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
The SLIAC Tournament is set to take place from November 1
st to November 5
th with all games set to be hosted by the higher seed. The SLIAC Tournament Final is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5
th.
