Season Outlook - Softball

The Webster University softball team has seen tremendous success in its three years under head coach Chris Eaton. The Gorloks won two straight St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) regular season championships, and finished as the runner-up in the NCAA III Midwest Regional Tournament in 2010. Webster has finished first in four of the past five seasons in the SLIAC, and compiled a 64-12 conference record during that period.

Following the 2011 season, Webster had nine players named SLIAC All-Conference, including the SLIAC Pitcher of the Year.  For the 2012 season, the Gorloks look to winning the SLIAC and making another trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Team action will begin when the Gorloks come together for an abbreviated fall season to focus on fundamentals, team building, establishing goals, and rekindling traditions.  In the spring, the season gets into full swing with a 40-game schedule, including spring trips in 2012 to California and Mississippi.

The Gorloks compete against tough regional teams from around the U. S. and the Midwest in non-conference action.  This competitive schedule helps energize and prepare the Gorloks for the SLIAC run...and for NCAA III post-season play.  A new passion has ingnited the players and coaches as the Gorloks look to take the top spot in the SLIAC and a conference tournament championship to return them to the NCAA Tournament again.

All home games are played at Blackburn Field, located two blocks from campus.
