Brian McQueary

Brian McQueary enters his first year as assistant coach of the Webster University cross country/track and field programs. A former NCAA Division II student-athlete, McQueary works primarily with the cross country team and distance runners.

McQueary arrives at Webster after spending two years as a head coach for girls cross country and assistant coach in track at Mehlville High School. McQueary has coached at several high schools during his career. At Lincoln College Preparatory Academy in Kansas City he was the head cross country coach and assistant track coach. While there he guided several athletes to state qualifications and was voted the 2005 Interscholastic League Cross Country Coach of the Year. At Parkway Central High School he was an assistant track coach where his athletes earned success on both the individual and team level. Prior to his stint as a high school coach, McQueary was a graduate assistant with the cross country and track programs at Truman State University from 2003 to 2004.

As an undergraduate, McQueary was a four-year letter winner in cross country and twice in track at Truman State. He earned All Conference honors once in cross country, and twice in track. During his 2002 outdoor track season he claimed the conference title in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and finished that season with All-America honors in the same event.

While at Truman, he earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. He holds level II distance certification from USATF. Additionally, McQueary earned a master’s degree in education, also from Truman State.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, McQueary now lives in Affton.
