Webster women’s soccer team clinches share of SLIAC title

The Webster women’s soccer team clinched at least share of the SLIAC conference title with its 5-1 win over Westminster on Wednesday evening at the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo. For the Gorloks it’s their third straight conference title and seventh overall.

WU (15-3, 7-1 SLIAC) scored a pair of goals in the first half before blowing the game open in the second stanza with three tallies. Kelly Strecker got Webster on the board with her goal in the 20th minute then Breanna Cashel closed the first half scoring with a breakaway goal to the far post in the 44th minute. The Gorloks wasted little time adding to their lead with two goals in the first five minutes after the break from Kelsey McClure and Jenna Steiner.
