The Webster University Gorloks women’s soccer team advanced to its third straight SLIAC Tournament championship game with a 3-1 win over Greenville on Thursday night at the Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Gorloks (16-4) got on the board in the 47th minute on the first of sophomore Kelsey McClure’s (Columbia, Mo.) three goals. She added her second one almost 11 minutes later to give WU a 2-0 advantage. Greenville (16-5) cut the lead in half with a goal in the 79th minute but McClure added her final goal of the evening about 0:18 later for the final margin. For McClure it gave her 24 goals on the season which set a new school single season record.
