The Webster Gorloks volleyball squad won its second straight SLIAC Tournament Title defeating Principia College, 3-0 on Saturday evening at Grant Gym.

            The Gorloks (25-9) and Panthers (23-12) had a seesaw battle in the first game before the Gorloks pulled away at the end for a 30-28 win. In the second game it was all WU as they raced out to a huge advantage for a 30-21 victory. In the finale Principia had a 16-11 lead before Webster scored 9 of the next 10 points to take a 20-17 lead. The Gorloks led 29-26 and had a chance to close out the match, but the Panthers wouldn’t go quietly scoring three straight points to tie the match at 29 all. WU had two more match points before they finally closed out the game with a 33-31 win.

            Webster’s #Crystal Spinner# (St. Louis, Mo.) was named the tournament’s MVP for the second straight and she was joined on the All-Tournament squad by junior Erin Grobe (House Springs, Mo.) and sophomore Jackie Schall (St. Louis, Mo.).
