Volleyball Wins 3-0 on Dig Pink Night

Webster University volleyball clinched the top position in the SLIAC on Oct. 28, defeating Maryville University 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-23).  The Gorloks are now 20-4 on the season, with a perfect 15-0 mark in SLIAC play.  This marks the fifth consecutive season that Webster has had 20 or more wins.  This is also the sixth time in history that the Gorloks have been the regular season champions.

The contest was also a part of the DigPink breast cancer awareness rally.  DigPink is a part of the Side-Out foundation that has been planning numerous events at college and high school games.  At the game, Webster recognized breast cancer survivors and family, played some games, and raised money for breast cancer research.  The volleyball team supported the cause by wearing pink uniforms instead of their normal blue and white.  The coaches on both benches also wore pink shirts for the event.

Webster will finish out their home schedule and celebrate senior night on Oct. 30 against Eureka.  This will also be the last conference game of the year.  Seniors Erin Grobe and Sarah Rusnak will be recognized during a pregame ceremony.  The game will begin at 7 p.m. at Grant Gymnasium.  The contest will feature free admission.
