Webster University volleyball finished the SLIAC season undefeated with a home win on October 30, defeating Eureka College 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-14). Webster currently holds a record of 21-4 (16-0 SLIAC), the 5th straight season they have won at least 20 games. Webster ended the conference season dominating most of the match with an aggressive frontline making defensive stops.
The Gorloks celebrated senior night, honoring Sarah Rusnak and team captain Erin Grobe. Sarah Rusnak has had a successful two year career as a Gorloks; she finished the night with four kills, one block, and 3 block-assists. Two year team captain Erin Grobe has also had a notable career as a Gorlok appearing in 393 games with 1,075 kills and 1,492 digs. Grobe finished the night with 10 kills, one block, and one block-assist.
After the game senior Sarah Rusnak said, “I’m proud we made it undefeated in conference!” Erin Grobe agreed with Rusnak, “We played well; we completed our 16-0 goal.” Head coach Merry Graf also emphasized how good it felt to be undefeated, but did not fail to mention, “We’re not done yet! We’re hungry for more!”
The Gorloks return to the court at McKendree College on November 6, at 7:00 p.m. in their regular season finale.
