Webster University women’s soccer team suffered a heartbreak loss to end their season on Nov. 1. The Gorloks fell to Principia College in double overtime in the championship game of the SLIAC tournament. The loss gives the women’s team second place in the SLIAC, and an overall record of 15-5. This season marks the fourth straight season that the women’s soccer team has won at least 15 games.
Though the women lost the game, some players still earned individual honors. Freshman midfielder
Casey Robinson and sophomore forward
Christy Capkovic were named to the first team all-conference. Senior keeper
Jessica Kozeny, junior defender Kristen Garlich, and junior midfielder
Jenna Steiner were second team all-conference. Senior midfielder
Kelly Strecker and sophomore forward Megan Neiderschulte rounded out the awards with honorable mention all-conference selections. Also named to the All-Tournament Team were Jessica Kozeny, Jenna Steiner, and Kelly Strecker.
