Webster opened up the 2008 St Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament with a bang, defeating Greenville 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-18). Webster will play the winner of the Principia College vs. Maryville University game to take place at 4 p.m. The championship game will be played at 7 p.m. in Grant Gymnasium. This is the 5th consecutive year that Webster has made the SLIAC championship game.

Webster played their hearts out all game, feeding off the emotions of the crowd. The Webster faithful were out in full force and supporting the Gorloks. Webster used their deep bench to keep the team fresh throughout the entire game. Webster played ten different athletes in the contest.

With this win, Webster University becomes the first team in SLIAC history to accumulate 20 tournament wins. If the Gorloks win at 7 p.m. in the championship game, it will be the school’s 6th tournament championship.
