The Webster University volleyball team toppled SLIAC opponent MacMurray College on Sept. 23, 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-18). Almost every player on the Gorlok roster saw game action. Webster is now 9-2 in the regular season, and 5-0 in conference play.
The game was once again dominated by the Webster front line. The Gorloks were led by the team's seniors, Sarah Rusnak and Erin Grobe. Junior Nicole Buse also had a good game hitting for Webster.
"Nicole has an incredibly strong right arm. She is a pitcher; that's why I recruited her," said Webster head coach Merry Graf, who served as Webster's interim softball coach last season. "I had no idea she played volleyball, but she does hit the ball hard."
Webster will take the court again on Sept. 23, where they will host a tri-match featuring Principia College and Blackburn College. Webster is currently in first place in the SLIAC, tied with Principia, as both teams are undefeated in conference play. Webster will play Principia at 10 a.m. and Blackburn at 2 p.m. All games will
be in Grant Gymnasium and admission is free.
