Volleyball Only Unbeaten in SLIAC After Win Over Spalding

SLIAC Win Streak at 29

The women's volleyball team extended its dominance in the St. Louis Intecollegiate Athletic Conference to include newcomer Spalding University after downing the Golden Eagles 3-1 at Webster University on October 6.

The win left Webster as the only unbeaten volleyball team in the SLIAC with a 7-0 record.  It also ran the Gorlok's SLIAC winning streak to 29 straight matches.  The Gorloks last lost to a SLIAC opponent on October 9, 2007 to Principia College.

Spalding University (KY) joined the conference this season and is eligible for regular season championships but not post-season tournaments.  The Gorloks handed Spalding their first loss to a SLIAC opponent, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 28-26.  Spalding is now 6-1  in the SLIAC and 14-4 overall.

Webster is back in action on October 10 as it hosts Central College (IA) and Elmhurst College (IL) on 'Dig Pink' Day.  Various activities being held during and between contests to benefit cancer research as all monies raised will be donated to that cause.  Admission is free but donations will be accepted.
