The Webster University women's soccer team had only to go to as far as Jacksonville...Illinois, to find some sun and fun, defeating MacMurray College, 9-0, on October 31.
Megan Niederschulte (JR, Pattonville HS, STL) scored a hat trick to raise her season total to 21 goals. The hat trick was the fourth on the season for Niederschulte. Christy Capkovic (JR, Mehlville HS, STL), who is leading the NCAA III nationally in goals and points per game, brought her season total to 31 goals with two on the day.
Amanda Zeier, (SO, McCluer HS, STL), Kathleen Berhorst (FR, Summit HS, STL), and Jordan Geller (O'Fallon HS, IL) also had goals, and the MacMurray defense had an 'own goal'. Webster led in total shots, 48-5, and piled up 27 shots on goal.
The freshmen GK tandem of Shelby Wade (Francis Howell HS, STL) and Maria Arias (Lincoln HS, Costa Rica) once again combined for the shutout. Wade raised her season record to 12-2. The shutout was the 10th for the Webster defense on the season
The women finished the season second in the SLIAC at 7-1, and 14-3 overall. Webster will host a first round SLIAC tourney match versus Greenville College (IL) on November 5.
