The Webster University women’s soccer team defeated Central College (IA), 6-0, at the Soccer Park on September 16. Juniors Christy Capkovic (Mehlville HS, STL) and Megan Niederschulte (Pattonville HS, STL) kept up their torrid scoring pace for the Gorloks.
Capkovic scored her fourth, fifth, and sixth goals of the season as Webster had a hat trick for a second consecutive game. Niederschulte netted her fifth goal as junior Kelsey McClure (Hickman HS, MO) and sophomore Amada Zeier (McCluer HS, STL) scored as well.
The Gorloks pulled to a 3-0 halftime lead and added three second half goals to close out the win. Freshman Shelby Wade (Francis Howell HS, STL) and sophomore Brittany Senator (Quincy HS, IL) each played a half, sharing the shutout.
The women are now 3-1 on the season and end their “Iowa” stand as they host their third consecutive team from Iowa, the University of Dubuque, on September 20 at the Soccer Park at 12:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE FOR THIS GAME.
