The Webster Women’s Volleyball Team played in the Bear Classic on September 4-5, 2009 at Washington University. The Gorloks were matched against NCAA III elite as they faced off against the 5th ranked Bears and the 22nd ranked Hope College (MI) on Friday, September 4.
Hope downed Webster as they rolled to a three game sweep (25-17, 25-13, 25-15). In their second match of the day, the Gorloks started strong, losing the first game to the host Bears 25-23 before dropping the next two 25-16, 25-16.
On September 5, Webster split a pair of contests as they lost to Millikin University (25-15, 25-21, 25-23) before defeating Augustana College (27-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25,22) to close the Classic. Jackie Schall, a senior from Oakville High School (St. Louis), was named to the All-Tournament team. Webster plays next on Wednesday, September 9 at McKendree University in Lebanon, IL.
