The Webster University women’s soccer team beat Westminster College, 2-0, on October 12, in Fulton, MO. The Gorloks took a 2-0 lead on a goal by Lindsey Owens (JR, St. Dominic HS, STL) and an ‘own goal’ shot by a Westminster defender off the back of its goalkeeper. The Webster defense held tight for its seventh shutout of the season and fourth win by shutout in its last five games.
Owens goal was her second of the season, and was assisted by Jordan Geller (JR, O’Fallon HS, IL). Brittany Senator (JR, Quincy HS, IL) and Shelby Wade (SO, Francis Howell HS, STL) shared the shutout for the Gorloks, who have allowed only one goal in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.
Webster heads to Principia College (IL) for a showdown in the SLIAC on October 16. Webster is 5-0 in the SLIAC and 9-5 overall on the season.
