The Webster University women’s soccer team lost to Fontbonne University, 2-1, on October 27 at AB Soccer Park. Fontbonne ended a Gorlok 14-game SLIAC win streak over the Griffins, dating back to the 2000 season.

Down 1-0, Webster tied the game at the 69 minute mark of the second half on Christy Capkovic’s (SR, Mehlville HS, STL) 17th goal of the season. With just under 10 minutes to play, Fontbonne took a 2-1 lead and held off the Gorloks to secure the win. 

The Gorloks are 5-2 in the SLIAC and 12-6 overall. Webster travels to Eureka College (IL) on October 30 for its regular season finale. The Gorloks will travel to the first round game in the SLIAC tournament on November 4 against an opponent still to be determined.
