The Webster University women's volleyball team got back in the win column with a 3-0 win over MacMurray College (IL) on October 5 at Grant Gymnasium. Beset with injuries, and coming off a tough weekend that saw the team's SLIAC win streak come to an end, the Gorloks found a victory was the best medicine for their ills.
The Gorloks swept through the Highlanders, 25-11, 25-16, 25-15 to the delight of the home crowd. Webster improved to 6-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and 8-11 overall. The team will face tough non-conference competition on October 8-9 at the Washington University Tournament.
In addition Washington University, the number one ranked team in the NCAA III nationally, Webster faces Mt. Union College (OH) and the University of Dallas. The Gorloks return to Grant Gymnasium for the first of three straight SLIAC home matches, vs. Eureka College (IL) on October 12.
