The Webster University women's volleyball team had mixed results in the first round of the Washington University Tournament, dropping its first match to Mt. Union University (OH) but coming back to defeat the University of Dallas in the nightcap on October 8.  

The Gorloks nipped the Crusaders 15-13 in the tie-breaker set to win the match.  Dallas, which started the season 12-0 and entered the match 16-4, fell to Webster (25-23, 16-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-13).  In the opener, Webster lost to the Purple Raiders of Mt. Union 3-0 (17-25, 17-25, 11-25).  Mt. Union improved to 13-5 on the season.

The Gorloks are 9-12 on the season.  Webster continues play in the strong tournament field on October 9, facing the nationally #1 ranked host Bears and Westminster College.
