Vollleyball Team Sends Seniors Off With Victory at Home

Sweeping Westminster College, 25-12, 25-17, 25-10, the women's volleyball team was victorious in the last home game played by the 2010 seniors at Grant Gymnasium, on November 2.  Sarah Bailey (Columbia HS, IL), Jackie Novak (Timberland HS), MIssy Repking (Hazelwood West HS), Kylie Schweiss (Rockwood Summit HS), and Mary Jo Schweitzer (Parkway Central HS) were all honored in a pre-game ceremony.

Bailey is a SLIAC 2009 All-Conference and 3X SLIAC POW selection and was named to the 2010 Washington University All-Tournament team. Bailey will have piled up 1334+ digs in her career, which places her 6th on Webster’s career all-time high list and her 492+ digs in 2010 is 4th all-time on the Webster single season list.  
 
Novak played all four seasons for Webster and compiled 92 kills, 289 digs, 859 assists, and 56 service aces, in 227 games played.  Repking also played four seasons for the Gorloks and she compiled 192 kills, 113 digs, and 41 assists in 170 games played.  Schweiss has 224 digs and 15 kills in 135 games played  as a Gorlok.

Schweitzer played four seasons for Webster and was a 2X SLIAC All-Conference selection, a 2X SLIAC POW selection, and in 2007 was the SLIAC Newcomer of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and a SLIAC All-Tournament Team selection.   She was named to the Rhodes College 2010 All-Tournament team. She will enter the Webster career record books 6th in games played at 405+, 5th in digs at 1389+, and 5th in service aces at 130+. 

Webster evened its season record at 16-16 and finished 12-4 in the SLIAC.  The Gorloks will meet Westminster at 4 p.m. in the first round of the SLIAC post-season tournament on November 6 at Greenville College (IL).  The winner of that match will face either Greenville or Principia College (IL) for the championship at 7 p.m.
