The Women’s basketball team ran into an economical opponent as Rose-Hulman defeated Webster, 59-47, on November 23 at Grant Gymnasium. While the Gorloks made only one fewer basket for the game, the Engineers took 23 less shots and made their way to the free throw line 10 more times, making nine of them.

The Gorloks had trouble generating baskets inside as the taller Engineers pulled down 31 defensive rebounds to Webster’s 16. Tori Fenemor (SO, St. Charles HS), with seven points and seven rebounds, and Katy Meyer (SR, Parkway Central HS) with nine points and five rebounds, led Webster. Freshman Kaliann Rickard (Cuba HS, MO) put in 22 minutes and had four points, two assists, and two steals, before fouling out.

The Gorloks take a short Thanksgiving break before taking on Augustana College (IL) at home on November 27. Webster’s next game is at MacMurray College on December 1 as St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play begins.
