Gorloks Can't Break Through Against Panther Defense

The Webster University women's soccer team saw its season come to an end with a first-round loss at Principia College (IL), 3-0, in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament on November 3.

Down 2-0 at the half, the Gorloks had several opportunities with multiple shots in succession from inside the six-yard box, but couldn't convert in the second half.  Seniors Christy Capkovic (Mehlville HS), Kelsey Hunk (Francis Howell Central HS), and Megan Niederschulte (Pattonville HS) played their last games as Gorloks.

Capkovic learned a day earlier that she had been voted to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District First Team, advancing her to the ballot for All-American Team consideration.  In addition to numerous Webster career and season records, Capkovic finishes with the 15th highest number of points (223) and 25th highest number of goals (88) in NCAA III history.

Webster finished the season 6-2 in the SLIAC, and 12-8 overall.  While losing three senior starters, the Gorloks will return 20 players in 2011, including a number of freshmen who gained valuable playing experience in 2010.
