Gorloks Gear Up for Home Stretch With Win

Webster Men 4 MacMurray College 2

The Webster University men’s soccer team bolted to a 2-0 halftime lead, and then coasted to a 4-2 win at MacMurray College on October 15, at Jacksonville, IL.  Clint Carder (JR, DeSoto HS, MO) led the Gorlok offense with two goals. Webster improved to 3-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with the win.

Carder’s two goals give him five for the season; Carder led the Gorloks with 15 goals in 2010.  Also scoring for Webster was Pat McCaffery, netting his fifth goal of the season as well.  Carder, McCaffery, and Bryan Enger (SR, Mehlville HS) are all tied for the team lead in goals with five.  Jurgen Rama (JR, Mehlville HS) scored the other goal for Webster, his second of the year.

Alex Cupp (SR, Lutheran South HS) manned the nets for Webster, winning his fifth game.  The Gorloks evened their season record at 6-6-1.

Webster returns to the Soccer Park for a three-game home stand, starting with a match vs. Greenville College (IL) on October 18.  Games with Principia College (IL) on October 22 and Westminster College on October 26 will end the home schedule.
