Women's Soccer Adds Shutout Win at MacMurray

Webster 7 MacMurray College 0

The women’s soccer team recorded its eighth shutout on the season as Webster downed MacMurray College, 7-0, on October 15, in Jacksonville, IL.  The shutout was the sixth in its last eight games for the miserly Webster defense.  The Gorlok offense did more than its part, as Kristen Montgomery (FR, Duchesne HS) scored three goals and five Webster players landed in the scoring column.

Montgomery’s hat trick was the first of her young collegiate career.  She tied Morgan Milfeld (SR, DeSoto HS, MO) for the team lead as she increased her season output to six goals.  Izzy Sherfy (SR, Pattonville HS) and Jordan Geller (SR, O’Fallon HS, IL) scored their first goals of the season in the win.  Jordan Fosburgh (SO, Collinsville HS, IL) and Kelsey Tsukayama (SO, Ft. Zumwalt South HS) both netted their second goals of the year.

Brittany Senator (SR, Quincy HS, IL) got the start in goal and picked up her seventh win of the season.  Jessica Davis (FR, Belleville West HS, IL) played in the second half and shared in the shutout with Senator.

The Gorloks are 4-0 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and 9-4-1 overall.  Webster returns to the Soccer Park for a three game-home stand, starting on October 18 vs. Greenville College (IL).  Principia College (IL) visits on October 22 and a game vs. Westminster College on October 26 ends the home schedule.
