The Webster University women's soccer team defeated Blackburn College. 4-0, on October 29 in Carlinville, IL. The Gorloks finished 7-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, in second place. Webster will host Greenville College (IL), the third place finisher, in the SLIAC Tournament on November 3, at the Soccer Park.
The Gorlok defense picked up its 10th shutout of the season in holding the Beavers scoreless. Jessica Davis (FR, Belleville West HS, IL) started the contest and won her second game of the season. Davis lowered her season goals against average to 0.23, which would be fourth nationally in the NCAA III. Davis is 35 minutes short of qualifiying for national rankings. Brittany Senator (SR, Quincy HS, IL), completed the shutout by manning the nets in the second half.
Kristin Montgomery (FR, Duchesne HS) started off the scoring for Webster in the first half with her ninth goal of the season, and finished off the scoring with her team-leading 10th goal in the second. Also scoring for the Gorloks were Lindsey Owens (SR, St. Dominic's HS), her second on the season, and Katie Aubuchon (SO, Affton HS), getting her fourth of the year on a PK.
Webster finishes the regular season 12-5-1. The first round game with Greenville will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd. Webster would face Principia College (IL) or Fontbonne University if they would advance, in the championship round on November 5.
