Box Score Powered by a taller and stronger lineup, Nebraska Wesleyan University bulled its way to an 81-55 win over the Webster University men's basketball team, in Lincoln, NE, on November 26. The Gorloks couldn't heat up their shooting game, to offset the Prairie Wolves dominance under the basket, in game two of the Snyder Classic.
Dietrick Sooter (JR, Meramec CC/Pierce City HS, MO) paced the Gorloks with 19 points and freshman Ahmed Smith (Clayton HS) had 10 points for a second straight game. Stefan Whittingham (SO, Ft. Lauderdale HS, FL) and Smith both pulled down five rebounds to lead Webster. The Gorloks took a big hit on the boards as the Prairie Wolves held a 40-26 advantage.
For his efforts, Sooter was named to the 2011 Snyder Classic All-Tournament Team.
Webster will begin play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at home against Westminster College on November 30. The Gorloks non-conference schedule doesn't get any easier as they hit the road again, travelling to Bloomington, IL, on December 3 to take on Illinois Wesleyan University, then to Washington University on December 7.
