The Webster University women's volleyball team started out the 2011 season on the right foot, beating Benedictine University-Springfield, 3-1, in Springfield, IL, on September 1.  The Gorloks dropped a close first set, 24-26, before sweeping the final three, 25-18, 25-19, 25-12.

The Gorloks jump out to a 1-0 start and are right back in action September 2 vs. Carroll University (WI) at Grant Gymnasium, at 7:00 p.m., for their home opener.  The Benedictine Bulldogs, an NAIA affiliate, are new members of the American Midwest Conference that includes local schools Harris-Stowe State and Missouri Baptist University.

Webster has a week off before heading to Bloomington, IL, for the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament on September 9-10.  They play four matches there and will return home of September 13 vs. Principia College (IL), for their St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener.
