The Webster University volleyball team kept two streaks alive in its 3-0 win at Fontbonne University, on October 23. The Gorloks won their 11th straight in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and kept its shutout string intact, not losing a single set in the 11 matches.
The Gorloks are 13-1 in the SLIAC with two contests remaining. Greenville College (IL) remains one half game ahead in first place with a 14-1 mark. Webster won the match in a consistent fashion, taking the first set 25-14, the second 25-16, and the third set, 25-15. Webster has beaten the Griffins 14 straight times in regular season action, dating back to the 2005 season.
Webster is 16-9 overall on the season. After a match at home on October 25 vs. Central Methodist College, the Gorloks travel to Bloomington, IL, to play in the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament on Oct. 26-27. Webster will play two matches each day in the round-robin schedule.
