The Webster University volleyball team, faced with the daunting task of hosting the #1 ranked team in the NCAA III, fell to Washington University, 3-0, at Grant Gym on October 3. The Gorloks fought the good fight, dropping the final two sets by three and two points.
Webster went down in the first set, 12-25, but the Gorloks gave the Bears a dogfight for the duration of the match, losing 22-25 in the second, and a 27-29 marathon in the third set. Webster is 8-7 overall on the season and Washington U. improves to 17-1.
It was "Dig Pink" night at Webster, and various fund-raising activities took place to help in the fight against breast cancer. The Gorloks are working with the Side Out Foundation and you can still donate through the website by clicking

Webster will resume play in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference as they travel to Eureka, IL, to face Eureka College and MacMurray College (IL), on October 6. The Gorloks are 6-1 in the SLIAC and remain one loss out of first place.
