Women's Soccer Wins Over Westminster, 2-0

Box Score Making a goal from Ally Nikolaus (JR, St. Joseph's Academy, MO) just 1:30 into the contest hold up, the Webster University women's soccer team stayed undefeated in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a, 2-0, win over Westminster College in Fulton, MO, on October 9.  The Gorloks improved to 3-0 in the SLIAC with the victory.

Nikolaus' goal, her seventh of the season, came on a head ball off a corner kick by Lauren Pratt (FR, Incarnate Word Academy, MO) for the Gorloks.  Nikolaus scored Webster's, and the game's final, goal with 5:00 left in the first half.  The goal was Nikolaus' eighth of the year and was assisted by Amy Schield (SO, Belleville West HS, IL).  Webster outshot Westminster, 12-4, for the game.

Jessica Davis (SO, Belleville West HS, IL) had her eighth shutout of the season manning the nets.  That total is the fifth highest single season total for a Gorlok goalie.  Assistant Coach Jessica Kozeny holds the Webster record with 12 shutouts in the 2008 season.

Webster improves to 10-4 overall and is ranked 9th in the Midwest Region.  The Gorloks hit the road for a game at Eureka College (IL) on October 13, then return home on October 17 to face MacMurray College (IL).
