Engineers De-Construct Gorloks, 2-0

Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team took a stumble in non-conference play, losing to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (IN), 2-0, on September 12 at the Soccer Park.  The Gorloks fell to 3-2 on the season, in their first game after ascending in the rankings to number eight in this week's Central Region poll.

Rose-Hulman broke through to take a 1-0 lead 22 minutes into the contest.  The Engineers made it a two-goal lead just three minutes later as they scored on a shot off a corner kick.  The Gorloks offense came alive in the second half, outshooting the Engineers, 7-3.  Webster maintained possession much of the half and hit the crossbar twice, but couldn't find the net.

Jessic Davis (SO, Belleville West HS, IL), fresh off being named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, took the loss in the nets.

The Gorloks are back home on September 16 at the Soccer Park to take on Iowa Wesleyan University and take to the road for the first time in 2012, travelling to Decatur, IL, to face Millikin University on September 19.
