Making a splash in her debut with the Webster University volleyball team, Sam Kersting was named a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for her performance in her first two matches as a Gorlok.
Kersting, a sophomore middle hitter from Lindbergh HS (MO) was named the Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of August 31-September 2.

She had 16 kills and five total blocks in two matches last week.  Kersting had eight kills, two block assists and a .333 attack percentage in a 3-0 win over Benedictine University-Springfield (IL).  She added eight kills, two block solos and one block assist in a 3-0 loss to Benedictine University-Chicago.

Kersting, who transferred to Webster this fall from Indiana State University, is the first Gorlok to take home SLIAC Athlete of the Week honors in 2012-13.  Congratulations to Sam on her selection.
