Fifth Straight Conference Win for Webster

Box Score Webster University's volleyball team picked up its fifth consecutive conference win with a sweep of Spalding University (Ky.), 25-14, 25-11, 25-17, Thursday (Oct. 3).
 
The Gorloks improved their record to 8-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Webster is the favorite to win the conference, according to a pre-season poll of SLIAC coaches.
 
Junior Megan Morrison (St. Louis, MO / Lutheran South) was credited with 19 digs, just missing her third 20-plus-dig match of the season. This is Morrison's highest match total since she had 20 against Illinois College Sept. 4.
 
Junior Allie O'Toole (St. Louis, MO / Lutheran South) racked up 24 assists, the fourth time she has amassed 20 or more assists in a match this season.
 
Junior Sam Kersting (St. Louis, MO / Lindbergh) had a team-high 13 kills and a .550 attack percentage. On defense, she contributed two solo blocks and four assisted blocks.
 
Webster had a .542 hitting percentage (14 kills, 1 error, 24 attempts) in the second game.
