Box Score Webster University's volleyball squad opened a twin bill with a sweep of Illinois Wesleyan University in a neutral match at Decatur, Ill. Friday (Oct. 4).
 
The win was the eighth consecutive for the Gorloks who are now 13-3 overall this season. Last season, Webster picked up win No. 13 in its 21st match.
 
Junior Jordan Vehlewald (Wildwood, MO / Lafayette) compiled 16 digs in the back row, tying her second-highest output of the season. She had 16 digs against Westminster Sept. 14 and 18 versus Iowa Wesleyan Sept. 11.
 
The team's two setters, juniors Allie O'Toole (St. Louis, MO / Lutheran South) and Ashley Fawcett (Surprise, AZ / Valley Vista), had 18 and 16 assists, respectively.
 
Junior Jenny Howard (Florissant, MO / Duchesne) was tops on the team with 10 kills, followed by junior Sam Kersting (St. Louis, MO / Lindbergh) with nine. This is the sixth time in 16 matches this season that someone other than Kersting has been the team leader in kills. Howard has done the honor in four of those six matches.
 
Kersting earned six blocks (four solo, two assisted) giving her a total of 12 blocks in last two matches.
