Box Score Webster University's volleyball team won both matches in a home twinbill, 3-0 against Fontbonne University, and 3-1 against Maryville University (Mo.). The wins bumped Webster's record to 15-4 overall this season, 9-1 in the conference.
 
This is Webster's 12th consecutive win versus Maryville, an NCAA Division II school that awards athletics scholarships. Webster, as a Division III member, awards scholarships solely on basis of academic merit.
 
The Gorloks dropped the first game to Maryville, 25-23, but won the last three, 25-18, 31-29 and 25-16. In the opener, Webster prevailed over Fontbonne, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-5, to win its sixth consecutive St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match.
 
The Gorloks are the favorite to win the conference, according to a pre-season poll of SLIAC coaches. Webster is aiming for its third straight conference title, and seventh in eight years.
