Box Score Webster University's volleyball season came to an end in the first round of the NCAA Division III national tournament with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-17) loss to the No. 2 ranked team in the nation, Hope College (Mich.).

The Gorloks finish with a school record 26 wins against nine losses. This was Webster University's third consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament and its seventh appearance in eight years.

Junior Jenny Howard (Florissant, MO / Duchesne) shared team lead in both kills (5) and digs (10). Juniors Emily Ratkewicz (Granite City, IL / Granite City) and Alexa Joseph (Austin, TX / Anderson) also had five kills.
On defense, freshman Katie O'Toole (St. Louis, MO / Lutheran South) matched Howard with 10 digs. O'Toole winds up third on the school's all-time list for highest dig average in a season.

Juniors Ashley Fawcett (Surprise, AZ / Valley Vista) and Allie O'Toole (St. Louis, MO / Lutheran South) were credited with 11 and 10 assists, respectively.

Junior Sam Kersting (St. Louis, MO / Lindbergh), conference Defensive Player of the Year, had four kills and three block assists. Ratkewicz registered one solo block and two assisted blocks.

Kersting started the week ranked second in the nation in Division III for blocks, 39th in hitting percentage and 67th in points. She finished ninth in the school record book for total blocks in a season and 13th for kills in a season.

Ratkewicz was ranked 50th nationally in blocks. Katie O'Toole was 46th in the nation for digs (per set).

All 21 players on the Gorlok squad are eligible to return next season.
