Box Score Webster University's perfect season ended with a 1-0 home loss to Millikin University (Ill.) Wednesday (Sept. 11) in women's soccer action.
 
The Gorloks entered today's match with a 5-0 record. Webster was vying for its first 6-0 start since 2007, when it opened the season with eight straight wins.
 
Webster outshot the visitors, 14-5, but could not capitalize. Nine of the team's shots were recorded by substitutes.
 
The Gorloks' all-time series record against Millikin now stands at 9-3-1.
 
Webster is the pre-season favorite to win the conference this season, according to a poll of coaches in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Last year, it earned a share of the conference regular-season title and won the conference championship tournament.
 
The Gorloks' next game is Sunday (Sept. 15) at Benedictine (Ill.).
