Box Score Webster University women's soccer team opened its home schedule with a 3-0 win against Central College (Iowa). The Gorloks improved their all-time record in home openers to 14-1.

Webster (4-0) has a perfect record after four games for the first time since 2008 when its team opened with five straight wins. This is the team's third shutout in four games, a feat last equaled or topped by the 2008 squad, which started the season with five consecutive shutouts.

Junior Jessica Davis (Belleville, IL / Belleville West) recorded the complete-game shutout, her second of the season. [She shared a third shutout.]

The winning goal was scored by senior Ally Nikolaus (St. Louis, MO / St. Joseph's Academy), a two-time all-region honoree. Last season, she tied for the team lead with five game-winning goals.

Junior Lauren Scalise (Elmhurst, IL / York) scored her team-leading third goal of the season. She also leads Webster with six points this season.

Sophomore Ashley Mess (St. Louis, MO / Northwest) added her second goal of the season.

The last time these two teams met was Sept. 16, 2009, a 6-0 home win for Webster.
