Box Score The Webster University women's volleyball team won its seventh straight match in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, with a 3-0 win over MacMurray College (IL), on October 14 at Grant Gymnasium. The Gorloks improved to 10-2 in the SLIAC with the win and held on to third place, one game behind second place Westminster College.
Webster won 25-8 in the first set, and finished off the sweep with a 25-17 win in the second, and 25-15 in the third. The Gorloks have won twelve straight sets over their last four matches.
Sam Kersting (SR, St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh HS) had nine kills, five block assists, and one service ace in the match. Kristen McDowell (SR, Staunton, IL/Staunton HS) had seven kills and two block assists, and Rachel Nelson (Papillion, NE/Papillion LaVista-South HS) had five kills, a solo block, two block assists, and a service ace on the evening.
The Gorloks are 14-8 overall on the season. Webster travels to Louisville, KY, on October 17-18, as they take on Spalding University on the 17th, and MacMurray and Blackburn College (IL) on the 18th.
