Gorloks Down Blue Jays, 3-1, Remain Perfect in SLIAC Play

Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team hung on to a share of first place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 3-1 at Westminster College on October 22.  The Gorloks are 6-0 in the SLIAC with the win and remain tied with Fontbonne University, a 1-0 winner in 2OT over Greenville College (IL).

Webster and Westminster were tied, 1-1 at the half, but two unanswered Gorlok goals in the second half gave them the win.  Jessica Davis (SR, Belleville, IL/Belleville West HS) picked up the win in goal, shutting the Blue Jays out in the second half.  Davis is 4-2-1 on the season with the victory, adding #39 to her record number of career wins for the Gorloks.  Rachel Ainsworth (FR, Salt Lake City, UT/Salt Lake School for Science Education) started the game in goal for Webster, playing the first half.

Kayla Dye (FR, St. Louis, MO/Windsor HS) scored the game winner in the second, assisted by Kristin Montgomery.  For Dye, it was her team-leading eighth goal on the season. Montgomery (SR, St. Louis, MO/Duchesne HS) got the Gorloks started in the first half, staking them to a 1-0 lead on a goal assisted by Lauren Pratt (JR, Incarnate Word Academy).  It was Montgomery's fifth goal on the year and 36th of her career. 

Freshman Brianna Pagan (St. Louis, MO/Washington HS) added an insurance goal in the second, giving the Gorloks their 3-1 final edge.  It was Pagan's eighth goal also, tying her with Dye for the team lead.  Lindsey Adshade assisted on Pagan's goal.

The Gorloks host Blackburn College (IL) at the Soccer Park on October 25 on Senior Day.  Seven seniors will be honored before the contest in their second to last regular season home game.
