Volleyball Drops First Two at Oshkosh Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Webster University volleyball team lost its first two matches at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational on October 24, at Oshkosh, WI.  The Gorloks eight-game win streak came to an end as they lost to host Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 3-1, and to Clarke University, 3-1.

The Gorloks lost the opener to host Wisconsin-Oshkosh, 13-25, 25-22, 22-25, and 24-26.  Oshkosh, a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, came into the match with a 24-4 record.

In the second match of the day, Webster lost to Clarke, 18-25, 25-22, 16-25, and 20-25.  Clarke is an NAIA member, awarding athletic scholarships, and is a member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference.  Clarke came into the match with an 18-10 record.

Seven teams from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri are all competing in the tournament.  Webster's record falls to 17-10 overall.

Webster concludes play in the Invitational on October 25, as they take on Loras College (IA) and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  The Gorloks are back home on October 28 as they host Westminster College in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown.
