Women's Soccer Goes To 4-0 in SLIAC With Win At Blackburn

Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team won its 23rd straight game in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, beating Blackburn College, 8-0, on October 10 at Carlinville, IL.  The Gorloks opened up a 5-0 halftime lead and cruised to the victory.

Kelli Cardine (JR, Chicago, IL/DeKalb HS) got the Gorloks started with her first goal of the season, 17 minutes into the contest.  Gaby Medrano (FR, New Braunfels, TX/Canyon HS) then scored a pair of goals, two minutes apart at 27:00 and 29:07, to give Webster a 3-0 lead.  Medrano has four goals on the year with the pair. 

Ashley Yacks (FR, Whittier, CA/LaSerna HS) and Chelsea Noser (FR, Collinsville, IL/Collinsville HS) each added goals before the half to give Webster a 5-0 advantage.  For Noser, it was her team-high ninth goal of the season.

Kayla Dye (SO, St. Louis, MO/Windsor HS) made it 6-0 at the 55:12 mark in the second.  Lauren Pratt (SR, St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy) and Kelsey Hausmann (SO, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville HS) added goals to make it an 8-0 final.  For Dye and Pratt, it was their third goals of the season and Hausmann's second.

Carolyn Ries (FR, St. Louis, MO/Lindbergh HS) and Hausmann each had two assists in the game.

The Gorloks outshot the Beavers, 60-0, in the game and had a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.  Alisa Coralic (FR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville HS) picked up the win in goal, improving to 6-0 on the season in the nets.

Webster, #10 in the Central Region in the latest NSCAA rankings, improves to 4-0 in the SLIAC and 8-4 overall.  The Gorloks have a showdown with Westminster College (MO) on October 13, as they host the Blue Jays at the Soccer Park.  Both teams sit atop the SLIAC standings at 4-0.
