Box Score The Webster University women's soccer team's come from behind, 2-1 overtime win over Greenville College, secured its fourth straight regular season title in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Finishing at 8-1 in the SLIAC, the Gorloks won the 2015 title and have won outright or shared the title four straight seasons. Kayle Dye's game winner with 2:22 remaining in overtime ensured Webster would retain the title, and have the #1 seed for the SLIAC Tournament.
The Panthers, who came into the contest at 6-2 and were one of four teams in the conference that had a shot of at least sharing the crown, did not go down without a fight in the game, played on October 31 at the Soccer Park.
Greenville took a 1-0 lead at the 7:28 mark in the first half and would hold the lead at halftime. Chelsea Noser (FR, Collinsville, IL/Collinsville HS) would put Webster on the board at 57:02 in the second half. Noser's team-leading 12th goal in her freshman season, was assisted by Dye. Alisa Coralic (FR, St. Louis, MO/Mehlville HS) who took over in the nets in the second half, would pick up the win in goal. Coralic is 8-1 on the season. Robin Bolme (SO, Smyrna, TN/Blackmon HS) held down the goal in the first half, making one save and giving up the one goal.
In what had to be the craziest final day's finish in SLIAC women's soccer history, four teams had a shot at least a share of the regular season title, with three teams having the mathematical possibility of winning the title outright. But a Webster win over Greenville would eliminate all other possibilities and clinch home field advantage for the SLIAC Tournament...and the Gorloks did not let their destiny escape them.
It was Senior Day for the Gorloks and Adrianna Carochi (Goodyear, AZ/Agua Fria HS), Sarah Darabcsek (St. Louis, MO/Timberland HS), Ashley Mess (St. Louis, MO/Northwest HS), Jessica Mess (St. Louis, MO/Northwest HS), and Lauren Pratt (St. Louis, MO/Incarnate Word Academy) were honored in a pre-game ceremony.
