#21 Vikings Vex Gorloks

Box Score Playing its second ranked foe in a row, the Webster University women's soccer team couldn't pull off another upset as the Gorloks lost to Augustana College (IL), 4-0, at the Soccer Park on September 13.  Webster had defeated #14 Lake Forest in its previous contest but lost to the #21 Vikings.

Augustana scored at 28:03 in the first half when a shot, which deflected off a Gorlok defender, landed at a Viking forward's foot for an easy shot past Webster goalie Robin Bolme (SO, Smyrna, TN/Blackman HS).

Webster trailed 1-0 at half, with Augustana holding a 13-4 shot advantage over the Gorloks.  Bolme had four saves in the half.

The Gorloks came out strong in the second half, putting offensive pressure on the Vikings but were unable to score.  Chelsea Noser (FR, Collinsville, IL/Collinsville HS) had three shots, with two shots on goal for Webster.

Augustana added a second goal at the 59:18 mark.  Bolme tried to push past an Augustana forward and Webster defender to punch out a shot, but the ball squirted to another Viking forward who tapped it in for a score.

The Vikings added insurance goals at 71:30 and 73:18 to make it the 4-0 final.  For the game, Augustana had 20 shots, and Bolme made five saves while taking the loss.

The Gorloks are 2-3 on the season and have a week off before travelling to Naperville, IL, to play North Central College on September 20.
